As a self proclaimed introvert I knew this trip would consist of drama drama drama and it was a perfect example of why I choose to keep myself to myself. There were times in group situations I found myself zoning out or thinking about other things. Now that i think of it there were many times I zoned out.... simply because I lost interest in the discussions being had lol.
Now back to the trip. Upon arrival at the airport Zina (my friend and the only girl I knew on the trip) and I went to relax in the lounge and it was greatttt.....mmmm the browniessss.
Once in Morocco we were greeted by the warm weather and a driver who took us to the apartment.
The best way to describe the décor in the apartment would be 'eclectic', bright colours and very mix and match .....but still beautiful in a weird kind of way. The scenery outside the apartment was also breath taking..... imagine waking up to nice warm weather with the birds chirping in harmony and occasionally you could hear the prayers from the mosque near by. It honestly was a calmly environment. Also in Morocco or other islamic countries its not uncommon to come across the Hamsa Hand also known as the Hand of Fatima which is usually used as a form of protection and hung on the walls or doors of peoples home.
What did i do in Morocco ?
Hammam
The second place I visited along with two other girls was heavennnnnnnlllyyyyyyyyyyy and cheaper and at this place we got more for our money, sauna, scrub and massage not forgetting some tea .....which is usually offered everywhere you go in Morocco.
If you are travelling to Morocco or Turkey I highly recommend you go for a Hammam.
Ourika Valley, Atlas mountains
Ok...... pause.... wait...... I said I WENT TO OURIKA VALLEY.......mate. I am scared of heights I can't even go up stairs with gaps or bridges... so please tell me why I took myself up a mountain...... in sandals -_- loool i can laugh now because thankfully I am not still up the mountain but please believe I cried real tears up there and its something I definitely would not do again but I am glad I was able to complete it..... its not like I had a choice though it was either turn back and go down which would mean looking at the possible rocks I could hit on my way down or keep going up and imagine the rocks I could hit if I took the wrong step lol..... so yeah as I said I had no other choice. But I had a lovellllllllyyyy tour guide who helped me through....... So shout out to you because I literally could not have done it without him.

Quad biking
Great experience and one of my main highlights. It was my first time quad biking and it lasted about two hours. First they teach you how to use the bikes...then boom your off. Oh yeah and Zina and I had an accident and flew off the bikes and I just happened to be vlogging at the same time so defo watch out for that vlog which will be up on our joint Youtube channel Zina and Nessa. But that did not dampen my spirit and I was back on the bike in no time.
After Quad biking |
555 Marrakesh
One word 'sick' .......two words 'too sick' lol. If you are looking to turn up and have fun this is definitely the place to be. Ladies get in free and free drinks all night (for ladies) what more do you need ... a good atmosphere? .... Well they have that too. The girls and I went on a Saturday and the club was packed it felt like a good night out in London, I had to remind myself that I was in Morocco lol. The music was good and everyone had fun. Ooooh and the staff ( in particular Mohammed) were really nice lol. However if clubbing is not your thing there is a rooftop restaurant with a pool where you could chill and do shisha. 555 Marrakesh and quad biking were defo the highlights of moroccooooooo........yasssssss!!!
TIPS
- Learn a bit of french. This makes it easier to interact with the locals.
- If taxi drivers tell you a price offer to give them less (when they see you they automatically see ££££).
- Dress modestly.
- Try immerse yourself into the beautiful culture.
